Anthony Michael Hall, die de rol van Johnny Smith vertolkt in de tv-serie The Dead Zone, vertelde aan Sci-Fi Wire dat er, nu de stekker uit de serie is getrokken, wordt gesproken over een film. Hij speelde zes seizoenen in de tv-serie, en vertelde dit gedurende een interview over de release van The Final Season van The Dead Zone. Toch is hij niet erg optimistisch dat de film er ook komt: "I don't think we had the size of a cult following that, let's say, The X-Files did. You look at Sex and the City or The X-Files, these movies were done long after the shows pumped out their last episodes."Zoals wij allen weten als Stephen King fans, was er in het geval Dead Zone, eerst de film met Christopher Walken als Johnny Smith, en toen pas de TV-serie. In de pilot van de serie zijn wel scenes uit de film te zien, maar er werden meer nieuwe karakters geintroduceerd. Hall gaf aan blij te zijn met zijn kans om de TV-serie te maken. "I would certainly be open to the potential for [a reunion feature]," zei hij. "I would never turn my back on what producer Michael Piller did for me. He gave me this incredible opportunity. ...So I was grateful for the experience, and I would certainly entertain it if they wanted to pursue a film. Am I optimistic about it? Not really, but I certainly wouldn't turn my back on the opportunity."
